3 Delicious Pizza Recipes for You to Try at Home

To fulfill your desire to make your pizzas yourself, we bring you recipes of delicious pies served at some of the top restaurants – PizzaExpress and California Pizza Kitchen. You can now enjoy that quality pie in the comfort of your home.

1) Pomodoro Pesto


Ingredients and quantities needed:

  • 1 ready-made pizza base
  • 78g tomato sauce / passata
  • 6 cherry tomatoes, marinated, cut in half
  • 1 ball of baby mozzarella
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • Pinch of oregano
  • 5 ml garlic oil
  • 10 gms pesto
  • 12 fresh basil leaves

For the marinated cherry tomatoes:

  • 6 cherry tomatoes, cut in half
  • 10 ml extra virgin garlic oil
  • Fresh oregano hand torn & Pinch of black pepper

To marinate the cherry tomatoes, simply chop in half, and squeeze the seeds out and place in a bowl. Drizzle with extra virgin garlic oil and fresh oregano. Cover and leave for at least 4 hours for maximum flavour.


1)      Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the pizza base
2)      Add the marinated tomatoes
3)      Tear the baby mozzarella into shreds and top on the base
4)      Season with black pepper & oregano
5)      Drizzle with garlic oil
6)      Cook in the oven at 371 degrees for 5 to 7 minutes
7)      Remove from the oven, drizzle over the pesto and add the fresh basil leaves.

2) Chicken Fajita Pizza


Ingredients and quantities needed:

  • 150 gm Pizza dough (proofed)
  • 2 tbsp Cilantro Pesto sauce
  • ¾ cup Mozzarella shredded
  • ¼ cup Cheddar Cheese shredded
  • 60 gm Shredded grilled chicken
  • 30 gm Sliced onion & peppers
  • 1 teaspoon Fajita mix
  • 1 Tbsp Chopped Scallion Greens
  • 1 wedge Fresh Lime


  1. Hand roll the dough using all purpose flour as thin as ¼ of an inch and to 10” diameter
  2. Spread the cilantro pesto sauce all the way to the edge of the pizza dough
  3. Sprinkle Mozzarella cheese and Cheddar cheese all over the pizza
  4. Season the grilled shredded chicken and sliced red onion and peppers with fajita mix
  5. Cook the pizza on a stone or a pizza baking tray at 215 – 230 degrees
  6. Do not pop the bubbles that form. The pizza should be bubbly, brown and crispy
  7. Remove from oven and cut in equal pieces. Garnish with scallions and lime wedge.

 3) California Veggie Pizza


Ingredients and quantities needed:

  • 270 gm Multigrain Dough
  • 45 ml   Marinara Sauce
  • ¾ cup  Mozzarella cheese shredded
  • ¼ cup  Sliced button mushrooms
  • ½ cup  Sliced Red Onions
  • ¼ cup  Sun dried Tomatoes
  • 1 cup   Blanched Broccoli Florets
  • ¼ cup  Sliced baby corn
  • ¼ cup  Grilled Zucchini julienne
  • ¼ cup  Mozzarella cheese shredded


  1. Stretch the Multigrain dough to 10 ½ inch. Spread the sauce all over the dough.
  2. Distribute cheese over the marinara sauce.
  3. Distribute mushrooms over the cheese.
  4. Distribute the onions over the mushroom.
  5. Distribute the sun dried tomatoes over the onions.
  6. Distribute broccoli florets over the pizza.
  7. Distribute sliced baby corn over the other ingredients
  8. Distribute the grilled zucchini over the other ingredients.
  9. Distribute additional mozzarella over the broccoli florets.
  10. Cook the pizza on a stone or a pizza baking tray at 215 – 230 degrees for 8- 10 minutes until the dough is risen and cheese is well melted and crust is formed.
  11. Remove from oven and cut in equal pieces and serve hot.
